Certificate & Recognition Policy
How certificates and recognition are issued, verified, reissued and what they do and do not represent.
FCO Assessment Foundation issues certificates and recognition in connection with its assessments, programs and community activities. This policy explains the basis on which they are issued and used.
Types of Certificates
- Assessment participation
- Achievement and performance recognition
- School and institutional participation
- Volunteer participation
- Internship and project participation
- Program participation
- Other recognition approved by FCO
Issue Criteria
Certificates are issued according to the criteria applicable to the specific program, which may include completion of the assessment or program, attendance, performance thresholds or contribution. Recognition criteria may differ between programs, and eligibility for one program does not imply eligibility for another.
Verification
Certificates may carry a unique certificate code that allows FCO to verify authenticity. FCO may verify any certificate presented as having been issued by the Foundation, and may confirm or decline verification to a school, institution or employer on request.
Alteration and Misrepresentation
Certificates must not be altered, edited, forged or misrepresented in any way. Misrepresenting a participation certificate as an academic qualification, board result, award or affiliation is not permitted. FCO may withdraw a certificate where it was issued in error or obtained through misrepresentation or a breach of integrity.
Duplicate and Reissued Certificates
A duplicate or corrected certificate may be requested where the original is lost or contains an error. Requests are verified against our records before reissue. Write to support@fcofoundation.org with the participant details and certificate code.
What a Certificate Represents
A participation certificate records participation in an FCO activity. It does not necessarily represent an academic qualification, and does not by itself guarantee admission, scholarship, employment or any external outcome unless explicitly stated for that program.
